Game changer: Fujifilm’s new MK 18-55mm E-mount cine lens

D-SLR and other digital cameras have risen to prominence in recent years, offering filmmakers a relatively inexpensive route to professional-quality footage.

However, the lenses used with these cameras could never match the quality of a proper cinema lens. They’re great for shooting still photos but they have limitations when it comes to shooting video. Most have an aperture that changes as you zoom and many suffer from things like focus breathing, focus- and axis-shift while zooming and focus problems in general.

The new Fujinon MK 18-55mm T2.9 is here to change all that. It’s the first cine quality lens for an E-mount camera and it delivers outstanding depth of field and bokeh, with controls like a 200° focus ring, aperture ring and zoom ring that wouldn’t be out of place on a much more expensive lens.

Contact us to find out just how amazing – and affordable – this lens is.

The range will expand when the MK 50-135mm T2.9 lens is launched later in the year, and both lenses will also soon be available in X-mount. Keep an eye on this space!

Stabilise your world with a Kenyon gyro

US-based Kenyon Laboratories have been making gyro stabilisers for nearly 50 years. Their latest models are sleek and compact and can be used to stabilise just about any rig, from a D-SLR to a broadcast camera with a zoom lens.

There’s no software required, no calibrating, and the gyro unit is built to last a lifetime. Great for use in tight spaces, on a game-drive vehicle or up in the air, the stabiliser eliminates camera shake in stills photography and guarantees a steady shot if you’re shooting video.
